This is going to sound like a silly question but are most girls bi-curious? Read more...?

This isn't a sex question actually but a beauty one. I am just really curious about something - how come girls can find other girls "gorgeous", "pretty", "beautiful" without being attracted to them? I wonder that because it's different for us guys. Hetrosexual guys don't say or even think "wow, that guy is gorgeous/handsome" or "you are very good looking". You might think we DO think those things but won't say it out aloud but I definitely don't. Women can admire other women's beauty. Hetrosexual men don't think that about other men.

It's not in any way a criticism. I am just trying to understand. Curiosity. :)

Maybe the simplest answer is that men and women are just wired differently?

But that's the thing I am trying to understand. Most men I know only say "you are pretty/good looking/attractive" if they are actually attracted to someone. With women saying it to other women it's different somehow.

galkl;asflks: seems you are projecting your general views of men onto me. I do not wish most women were bi-sexuals, actually. ;) I do acknowledge other men who are good looking but what I am saying is I don't think along the likes of "wow he is so good looking".

When a woman tells a guy he is sexy/hot/gorgeous it usually means she is attracted to him. When a guy tells a girl she is beautiful/gorgeous etc. it usually means he is attracted to her. Can you see my point now? That is why I am curious when women say those things to other women. :) Don't get offended.

I think it's because women are more attuned to what's attractive for a woman just from their own attempts at being beautiful. What I mean is, women generally put more thought and effort into their physical appearance than guys. Because of this, we "know" what is considered attractive and what isn't in a woman so we are able to judge others based on this. I think it also comes from the fact that women tend to compare themselves to other women.

  I think you've basically got it, they're just wired different.
  Girls compare themselves to other girls, or compare girls to girls, and make a judgement, pretty, average, normal.
  
  For me I just do it automatically, and I've never before thought that guys wouldn't do that, lol.

  Of course there are guys that for example I like their hair but well that's it, and can also tell if they have nice muscles obviously.
  
  To one of the girls above, yeah we do know when they are really ugly, but they need to be hidious, apart from that no honestly, at least I can't tell if a guy is good looking.
• No it's just a way to be friendly and I wouldn't necessarily say that guys don't think about that but I would say that they most likely do think like oh, that guy knows how to dress so its kinda like saying he looks good but in a non gay way, i hope u know what i mean. and i doubt u never had those thoughts

• most girls in my school tend to say that other girls are pretty when they know they aren't, it's all down to attention and popularity in my school, like "oh that girl is so nice because she called me pretty" it's so overrated :/
• I call my friends gorgeous and pretty all the time, but it doesn't mean I'm bi-curious. I'm just being honest with them and complimenting them.
