A questions on acrylic paints?

might sound a silly question to someone who knows the answer!

i just wanted to know if acrylic paint that people use for painting, can the same paint be used for nail art?

before i go out and purchase some i just wanted to know if any one knew if they could be used for both paintings and nails.

If you are talking about acrylic paint that you buy in craft stores, then yes - you can use it for nail art. Stores like Walmart also carry these paints in the craft section.You don't need to spend a lot of money on the paints either. The cheaper brands work just as well as more expensive brands. For example, a 2 ounce bottle of acrylic paint shouldn't cost you more than a couple of dollars at the most. Also, but inexpensive brushes as well.

  • You can, but it will peel off.
    I paint with acrylics on canvas, but since nails are smooth it won't stay on.

  • acrylic art paint is water based. presumably you need some sort of enamel based nail varnish. also i suspect they may leave a lot of brush strokes
