I think there's a difference between being good-looking and being handsome....what do you think?

i tend to see people confusing the term good-looking and handsome.i think a guy can be good-looking but not handsome whilst you can be handsome and good-looking.example...i think colin farrell,david beckham are good looking guys..patrick demsey,micheal bolton,richard gere are handsome men.

what do you think?

To me good looking and handsome are the same. I think David Beckham is hot. Anyway, some men who have that kind of look like the men you mentioned fall into those categories. Then there are men who look cute. It all depends on their personality and how much of a baby face you have. I knew a guy when we were in our teens I thought he was so cute and now he's good looking or handsome. It's been a 25 year difference since I say this about him. You can also have 2 guys the same age and one could be cute and the other handsome again all depends on their facial features. With women it's different because you can have one woman that can be cute, pretty and hot all depending on hoe she makes herself up to be younger or older.

• Handsome probably carries different connotations for you - you obviously see it as a more old-fashioned term given the examples you've listed (notice the generation gap, did you?)
• yes! handsome = dapper. classic good looks. men who age gracefully are handsome.
