A French manicure is a nail treatment that includes the shaping and coloring of the nails. It is identified by nails that look nude with white, square tips.It is a natural nail application that features white painted tips that are accentuated by a natural looking nail bed.

French manicures are chosen by women who want clean, simple-looking nails that appear well groomed

If the nail is short or unattractive, acrylic can be used to achieve this look

Acrylic nails are artificial tips that come in an opaque or white tip color usually made of plastic that are pasted or pressed onto natural nails with an adhesive and a mixture of a particular powder and solidifying liquid to create an overlay that covers the natural nail bed to the end of the artificial tip.

  • french manicure is a type of nail polish treatment. it is the process in which the tops (white part of your nail) is painted with white polish and then the whole thing is painted with a light pink or buff color. you can do it to both real and fake nails.

acrylics are a type of fake nails that are applied over your real nail to make them longer and more shapely. you can have the above mentioned french manicure painted them. these types of nails can really damage your real nails if you leave them on for long periods of time.
  • a french manicure is something you do to the nail. Acyrlics are fake nails. they are like two different things, unless i read your question wrong. A french manicure is with white tips or maybe pink on the nail with a white tip. and acrylic nails are like covers you put over your nails to make them stronger, longer, more vibrant or thicker. A french manicure is like a decoration.

What colour suits me best?!?

Resolved Question

What colour suits me best?!?

Im going to Turkey in summer. I have really pale skin and I burn very easily. I have blonde hair with brown in (dirty blonde). What colour bikini should I wear ? Also some sites in the UK like top shop and new look :D

Thanks xx

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Nothing too dark. It will make you look even more pale. Not skin tones either. Light Purples, Blues, Greens?

There are currently no comments for this question.

Other Answers (5)

  • Possibly something quite vibrant. Personally, I think a bright blue looks good against pale skin as it shows contrast and brings out the colour of your skin more.

If you do burn though, Red is the way to go to [hopefully] hide the burning.
  • Light blue does well with yellowish hair :-)
  • Red.
  • purple
  • pink

  • no but u can do alot of things with ur eyes to make them stand out..
for instance...use a white eyeliner on ur waterline and highlight the inner corners of ur eyes....
that will allow more light to travel in ur eyes
or u can try highlight and contouring....
  • line your eyes with heavy black eyeliner and eyeshadow, and your eyes will look bigger. it has nothing to do with your nose :P

    Source(s):

  • possibly. however it depends on the rest of the facial features as well. sure it might look slightly larger but the difference can't be that dramatic
  • Not possible.
Plus then the focus is on the small nose, not the the normal eyes.
  • I like big eyes.
  • i think it someone should buy colored contacts if they want thier eyes to stand out

How would an english female look italian?

How would an english female look italian?

I just got told I look Italian (in the face)..
But I'm English.

How would I look Italian for someone to say that? Are there certain characteristics? x

Additional Details

Well, I don't know where they got that idea from then lol because I'm probably the complete opposite.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Not really. I've lived in Italy, and people there can look quite diverse.

The person might have meant your coloring -- people associate dark hair and olive skin with Italians -- or perhaps you have a "Roman nose," but there are blonde Italians, redheaded Italians, blue-eyed and green-eyed Italians, and plenty of Italians whose noses are nothing out of the ordinary.

Just so you know, however: the British Isles have experienced much immigration over the centuries, not just recently. Italians have settled there, and don't forget the Roman conquest and occupation. You could certainly have Italian ancestry, no matter what you look like.

Hair and fake tan help :) ...?

Resolved Question

Hair and fake tan help :) ...?

okay so i need help on a couple of things.
firstly, my hair is so flat, even with layers in, no matter what i do it just goes flat, any ideas on how to give some volume to my flat hair?
and also which is the best fake tan to use, i found a good one but only lasts the night and comes of in the shower and if i spilt drink on my leg or washed my hands it would start to come off,, help :)

x

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

My hair is exactly the same, its really long and i got layers put through it and im really annoyed that is hasnt made a difference as i liked my hair before.
i have found that herbal essences volumizing shampoo and conditioner works.. and tresemme volume shampoo and conditioner too. I have also come across a hairspray called Fat hair 0 calories which is AMAZING ! and the same brand have a thickening spray which also works a treat!! i honestly dont know where i would be with out them!!

As for the fake tan.. i highly reccoment st moritz fake tan and st tropez tan! i love this stuff and it doesnt turn you orange. Or try a tinted moisturiser, ? johnsons do one although it really smells, garnier also do one that smells like apricot lol.. but thats also good as long as you apply it evenly to prevent streaks and patches and thourghly wash your hands after ! otherwise they turn orange.
The only other thing i would reccomend is getting a spray tan? they last for about 2 months.. and it doesnt come off in the shower, pool or anything. Although this is slightly more expensive, usually around £20.

  • For your hair, after you have washed it, apply any volumising mousse, especially concentrating on the roots, after this, tip your head upside down and blow dry it like this, it gives it more volume, back brushing is also a good way to get bigger hair, but use a good hairspray like Elnett (I think that's what it is called). Try to avoid brushing your hair too much, when you do, don't brush your roots, just brush the ends of your hair.

For the fake tan, I LOVE St.Moriz, I looked for ages for a good fake tan that didn't cost too much and i finally found it.
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/MORIZ-Moritz-Ins…
You can also get them on ebay around £8 for two bottles.
It doesn't smell too bad, it doesn't go streaky/patchy and it gives you a lovely golden tan, also lasts a while.

    Hope this helped x
  • Mousse on the roots of your hair should help give it a bit of lift. but dont put it through all of your hair as it will weigh it down and flatten it. When you dry your hair, you should lift up from the roots with your fingers, also backcomb some of your hair underneath and hold in place with hairspray. You could even try velcro rollers, leave them in dry hair for an hour and spray.

Fake Tan - Fake Bake Xtreme. It's the darkest of the fake bake collection and is like a sort of gel consitensy so its not as messy as normal lotions. Put it on before bed (it goes on almost black and patchy, but dont panic!! It all washes off to reveal a lovely deep golden tan) leave on for at least 8 hours. Wash it off and voila!

If you are ever looking for a instant tan, Sex Symbol Aerotan. Its amazing! really nice golden colour and as shimmer! It just sprays on and doesnt streak at all!

    Hope this helps!
  • Hair: two good products that come to mind for me are Tresemmee Spray in volumizing gel and john frieda root volumizer. My favorite is the john frieda one, leaves your hair soft too :)

Tan: I love Aveeno's self-tanner, but have been having trouble finding it. My second option is Jergen's natural glow. I've used both, and my fave is Aveeno, but Jergens works just as well.

    Hope this helps!!
  • 1. Try big sexy hair shampo. That works well with me.
    2. Maybe try the tanning bed? Alot of fake tans can turn you orange. Ha I learned this from my friend (:

WICH DO YOU PREFURE??

Resolved Question

WICH DO YOU PREFURE??

body spray or perfume.

''not for me''

just choose.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

PERFUME IS COMPLETLEY NASTY.

I CHOOSE BODY SPRAY.

BODY SPRAY SMELLS BETTER FOR GIRLS.

BODY SPRAY HAS SWEAT SMELLS .

AND PERFUME SMELLS LIKE AN OLD LADY.
Body spray makes women smell like cheap hookers, or little kids. Neither is good. Smells of cheap aerosol.
Good perfume is better. It won't smell like old women if you don't purchase one that smells like musk. I personally prefer real Vanilla, or cinnomon scents. Good ingredients are important.

  • Well there's nothing much, I'm a beautician, and many people have 'Eyelash Extension' its a simple, way and can last up to 6 weeks (even more.) They aren't fake because they wont come off easily. Also by having them you can put mascara on them if you having a night out or such. Many celebs use them so it worth a try. They cost around £15-£30. Here are some pictures of results.

Is showing cleavage really offensive?

Resolved Question

Is showing cleavage really offensive?

It has been really hot in Australia so went to work on Friday in quite a low cut top.

My supervisor told me that she felt offended by my dress and the fact that I was showing off so much cleavage

Is this really that offensive?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

No, it's not exactly "classy" or "sophisticated" or really that "polite"

In my school we learned that if you a lot of cleavage, it means you're looking for a mate.
It's not something you should wear to work. Maybe parties, clubbing, or even the supermarket.

Other Answers (11)

  • It's not really appropriate for work, but sometimes it is unavoidable and too be honest at times I feel persecuted/prejudged. An example being that I'm a small-medium in tops, but any tank top I buy from junior-apparel stores makes me show cleavage while still being loose on my stomach. And any tank top that wouldn't show cleavage is basically t-shirt cut, which defeats the purpose =/
But more on topic I'm not offended by cleavage although I know people who are.
  • is your supervisor by anychance unattarctive, with a pair that are either impossible to locate or brush her knees?? KO

If it was warm then a little flesh is fine. Maybe you ought be be offened at her personal comments???

This woman sounds ridiculous who is 'offeneded' by cleavage, distracted maybe, offput...maybe but offended, you oughta give her a mouthful and show her what offensive really is (don't actually may result in unemployment)

    Good luck
  • I've been around the block more than a few times. But I still get distracted by visible cleavage. I might do nothing about it, but it gets my blood running, that's just the way it is. I know most other guys would be distracted too, and other people might think badly of you. But this is probably just a work ethic thing.

If it is your supervisor at work that is telling you this, then it's probably a good idea to just accept what she says and not show too much cleavage when you are at work. Unless you don't think that the job is that important to you.

You could find a way to dress that keeps you just as cool but is more in line with the way you need to dress at work. And then tell her why you dressed that way and ask her for a fan to keep you cool!
  • I guess it depends on the situation and how low cut it is but she sounds kind of uptight. It's nothing to really be offended of. Just be more mindful of how you dress around her.
  • if you do it all the time. or may be your top was kind of too low for her. be careful. you should not wear such clothes at work or college. it is never appreciated.
  • I wouldn't say offensive, more like unprofessional but depends where you work, if your dealing face to face customers then its definitely not okay.
  • Post a few pics with emphasis on the cleavage and I'll give you my answer as to just how offended I am. A side view, frontal view and one from above would suffice rather nicely.
  • no, but it is inappropriate for work.
  • not at all if it's hot what does she want you to wear a turtle neck!
  • depends how much better you look than her, you don't want to like blow her out of the water, that is offensive
  • LMAO @ GENE

Questions about hair removing cream/mousse for the legs, advice please ladies?

-Does it hurt?
-How does it work?
-Good brands and what UK shops they can be found in?
-How long does it last?
-Is it better than shaving?

Thanks :)

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Nair is a good brand(think it is available in the UK, at least it is in the London area), it is less expensive then others and does as good a job as the very expensive brands. You need to test a spot on a sensitive area of skin like behind your knees to see if you will be able to use any of them though. Some people have reactions that can be mild or as bad as a bad burn.
I have used many of the brands available because a girlfriend kept getting them for me when she owned a spa. Still like Nair the best though. You can use your hand to spread the cream or put it on a washcloth and spread it over the skin. You can count on the hair being gone longer then with shaving, won't have nicks and cuts from razor blades and the skin is much softer. This is because it kind of exfoliates the skin as it removes the hair which is a good thing especially if you have rough skin normally.

  • Hair removed creams don't hurt at all unless your skin is very sensitive. It gives a hot sensation, like warmth, but this is very mild and doesn't cause any discomfort. It lasts about a week and a half, unlike shaving which can sometimes only last for two days. I find it better than shaving because it doesn't dry out your skin (due to lotions infused inside of cream) and is more thorough in removal.

I find the better brands to be in a spray can (spray on) because you don't have to spread it around with your hands and you don't have to touch it and it makes less of a mess.

After school detention writing!?

Resolved Question

After school detention writing!?

hey im in year 10 and on tuesday nite i had my FIRST ever after school detention which was from 3.00 til 5.30pm. 2 and a half hours!!! I got given the detention the weekbefore xmas for skipping class and being late etc.....probably deserved.

detention was in the english classroom and there was 3 of us there.(me, sophie and kayleigh got detention for the same thing as me) we ahd to sit on seperate desks and we got given an essay to write for the 1st hour and then copy/write from a textbook for the 2nd hour, which hurt my hand and fingers from writing lots! i did 6 sides of A4 tonite!! i did shake my hands and fingers after about an hour, but they still ache and hurt now!!!

Any ideas on a good pen to use - my fingers are long and thin and hold the pen quite tightly so that probably makes a difference?? i used a blue biro pen, its in my pencil case now, shall i use the same pen that i used on tuesday for next weeks detention?

if you go to school in the UK then how long are your after school Detentions and what do you have to do in them? its horrible sat there in school uniform writing, when all other pupils are home! my parents were phoned to let them know about it. I walked home with my boyfriend last week as he had a football match, sophie's parents picked her and kaylee up after. Its also dark when you get out, which is horrible!

we all got another after school detention nxt week (it was a double after school) dreading it!!! pen ideas please!?!

jess, soph and kaylee :) xx

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

You may not like it, but my first suggestion is to do some heavy catching up in schoolwork and learn how to spell and write correctly. It doesn't look like you have learned a lot in school so far.
As to what pen to us, use one with a smooth shaft and one that is thicker so you don't have to grip it so tightly. You might get one of the foam covers for pens too. I write up to 9 hours a week for projects and that has helped me a lot because I used to grip pens and pencils so tight that I made an indentation on the bone of my middle finger when I was in school
Our kids here get 4 hours on a Saturday for detention like you had and can't take part in any extra school activities for a week.

For me its Perfume + Foundation.

I don't go out of my way to buy the most expensive make up around, if i like the colour and quality of a cheaper brand then ill happily buy it.
But when it comes to foundations i will splurge a bit because foundation is the most important part.
Plus - you get exactly what you pay for... Quality!

  • perfume and foundation def bad foundation brings you out in spots and itches. i like to buy a middle of the road mascara, because i think the cheap ones are a bit rubbish bit the expesive ones dont offer much for the price either, but eyeshadow and bronzer, blusher i dont spend much on because you change these quite a bit, like use different colours and things. this isnt really a beauty product but it is good to spend a bit more on tweezers too
  • I rarely use foundation as it makes my skin seriously oily! I would pay alot for perfume defiantly. Overall i would pay more on beauty products that help my skin: Cleansers etc. I use proactive at the moment which I highly recommend. Although it can be a bit costly depending on where you purchase it from. (Ebay is my go to place)

    Good Luck x

I want to have a makeover, list of things to do?

Resolved Question

I want to have a makeover, list of things to do?

I want a makeover of both looks and personality, i don't like anything.

Help :) Best list = best answer

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Hmm.... Well i'm going to separate this answer into two sections ---

APPEARANCE

HAIR: It's fun changing you style. I rarely change my looks but when I do its very suttle. However, I feel you should go dramatic. Starting with hair. Change your cut..... This could mean adding in extensions or going for a shorter cut.

LONG and VOLUMISED: http://celebhairstyle.files.wordpress.co…
SHORT with DEFINITION: http://www.hairstylestalk.com/images/sho…

Whatever you go for have fun with it. Do some research! I sometimes base my look one someone I have seen on TV.... Try that! (TIP: Lots of layer are very in fashion right now)

CLOTHES: Having a makeover doesn't mean you have to throw all your clothes away! Mix and match and buy some new items. Change your style by adding more accessories or taking away the baggy T-shirts. Without Knowing more about you its hard to give you advice. When I aim to alter my look I buy loads of magazines and find the latest trends. Try to be dramatic with your change and aim to shock people (but in a good way).

MAKE-UP: I don't wear alot of make-up but that factor will vary from person to person. Start with the basics. Find your perfect foundation (Try mat mousse). Then move onto blusher.... Don't paste it on whatever you do. Suttle it the way to go. From their move onto eye-shadow, eye-liner and mascara. I recommend maybellines colossal mascara! It works really well and gives you a long eye lash effect. To ensure you do this right go to Boots! Find a member of staff and ask them to help you with your make-up. I'm sure they will help.

OK NOW TIME FOR YOUR PERSONALITY!! ---

A positive attitude will get you places. Aim high and set goals for yourself. Aim to quit smoking and lower your alcohol consumption (If these apply). A better inner body will effect our otter body and overall looks on life, trust me.

My big tip is to drink alot of water (About 8 glasses a day). This not only keeps your insides clean and flushes out and bad toxins, it also improves your skin. Drinking water will gives you alot of energy and will make you feel less down in the dumps.

Try to eat bananas, I know it sounds crazy. I can't remember exactly what they contain but they contain something that is often called a happy factor! The will cheer you right up and will also keep you high on energy.

SELF-EVALUATE. You say you don't like your personality.... The only way make a change is to see what exactly you don't like. Write down things about ways and personality that you think is not good and aim to change them one by one.

If you ever need advice or just someone to talk to dont hesitate to email me.

Regards and good Luck.... x

  • Makeover of personality? Good luck with that. If I've learned anything from Psychology is that we try hard to change ourselves but in the end can't/

Looks well it depends how you look without make-up but I do mine by just doing the eyes and lips, no foundation but that's because well lips need to look good for kissing for me lol and my eyes in my opinion are my prettiest features.
  • i would definitely start with hair! volume volume volume! hair short or long can be volumed and this gives the idea of thick hair which is definitely a good move! this can be helped by blowdrying or backbrushing, go to your hairdressers for tips! then with make up, like they say, less is more. you can apply fake tan to create a natural glow to your skin but obviously not too much, you don't want to look like an orange! a tanning mit is a good choice to prevent streaks, they are available from boots. limit your applications of eyeshadow, foundation and blush. these can become very heavy and can cause you to appear much like a doll.
as for your personality, happiness is the key! this can give you confidence and motivation to become a nicer person. obvious choices are retailtherapy and a partner but personally i think that exercise is an excellent option! it can relieve stress and make you feel good about yourself!
well this is my answer, hope i've helped!
    xxxxxx
  • the easy and best way is to have a haircut. it gives instant makeover. look into your wardrobe, wear clothes which are fitting and of well cut. accessorize with big bags, banglaes, scarves, trendy shoes etc. have a happy makeover.

i agree, its not about being superficial, its about being repulsed by all those body piercings and guys wearing white and black make up and long greasy hair. other goths are ok with it, but personally id probably try to change how they look if i loved a goth, which is wrong. some people need to calm down. it has nothing to do with superficialness, its preferance! you have to be ATTRACTED to someone to like them (in my opinion anyway) and some people just dont find the goth look a turn on!

  • does it really matter what they look or dress like... you need to grow up abit, they are human like everyone else, i have a few friends that are goths... and they all have great personalitys.... if you actually took the time to know them, you'll find they are the best people to know, your so superficial that your disgusting
  • cause normal is so insanely boring...i dont go for the whole piercings everywhere cause it makes my skin hurt every time i look at them, but a random foot tall top hat or black trench coat or crayon red hair is fun and interesting and skinny jeans look incredibly hot on guys (though i'd say thats more of an emo thing than a goth).
  • Because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people like that look...ever heard of having a PREFERANCE? Yes, they exist, and some people like it *gasp*..-__-

And maybe they're not shallow and love a person for who they are instead of what they look like...unlike you, you shallow little sk*nk. :)

With your attitude no one's going to fall in love with you either...
  • because they're people and can have great personalities just like everyone else.
    looks aren't everything.
  • It's easy as long as they're not as they're not obscenely superficial, like you.
  • I love guys with long hair - I really really hate those football wannabes with short spikey hair that really turns me off!
  • Looks arent everything.

Its its mostly Goths falling in love with goths.
  • well some people find dat attractive i dont know why but it happens i mean their human beings after all
  • Goth is more of an attitude than a style.
  • the dark side attract together somehow... or oppsites too
  • ummmm. they dont? normal people dont anyway. they just frak people out. i mean, they can be nice. but-not my thing
  • other goths don't find it gross? haha good question!!!
  • because true love is not about like someones look.
you will understand when u are 12.
